2016 McLaren P1 GTR Road version. UK registered with delivery mileage only. Metallic black with full polished carbon interior. Comes with full race pack and spare set of wheels.

Celebrating 20 years since their victory in the 1995 24h Le Mans win, McLaren announced that they would resurrect the GTR name by launching a track-only version of the P1, the P1 GTR.

The P1 GTR was made available to the 375 P1 owners only, and the production was limited to 35 units. The concept car made its debut at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2014. The P1 GTR production model was officially unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show The GTR variant is priced at GB£1.9 million. This price includes a worldwide owners trackday series; later P1 GTRs were offered for less money, approximately $1.7 million, for those P1 owners who had no interest in the track series but still wanted to purchase the GTR variant.

McLaren states that this is the most powerful McLaren to date, with an intended power output of 987 bhp (1,000 PS, 735 kW). The car will also feature slick tyres, and have greater levels of performance, grip, aerodynamics and downforce in comparison to the road car. Featuring a new fixed ride height on race-prepared suspension, a fixed rear wing capable of using DRS, and a new exclusively designed exhaust, McLaren aims to deliver the ultimate track experience.

This limited edition went in to production in 2015, after all 375 standard P1’s were built, as homage to its race-winning ancestor, the iconic F1 GTR.

The P1 GTR hybrid engine aims at producing 1,000 PS (987 bhp); 84 bhp over the current model, although McLaren did not disclose whether the power increase is from electrical boost or tuning the twin turbo 3.8-litre V8. Performance figures are unconfirmed. P1 GTR weight was reduced by 50 kg and deliver power-to-weight ratio of 687 bhp per tonne.

The P1 GTR can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds, with the top speed at 225 mph (362 km/h), brake from 60 mph to 0 in 85 ft, and corners at 1.54 G.

The McLaren P1 Carbon is a limited production plug-in hybrid sports car built by British car manufacturer, McLaren Automotive. The so called Hypercar and concept car was capable of reaching speeds of 218 mph (351 km/h) with the limiter on, and up to 249 mph (401 km/h) without it. Debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, all 375 models were soon snatched up. Deliveries to retail customers began in the UK in October 2013. The entire P1 production of 375 units was sold out by November 2013. The production run ended in December 2015. The United States accounted for 34% of the limited production run, and Europe for 26%, so not many of these cars to go around.

p1carbon07It is considered to be the long-awaited successor to the McLaren F1, utilizing hybrid power and Formula 1 technology, but does not have the same three seat layout as its predecessor. Like the McLaren F1 road car of 1992, the McLaren P1 is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive design that uses a carbon fibre monocoque and roof structure safety cage concept called MonoCage, which is a development of the MonoCell first used in the McLaren MP4-12C and then in subsequent evolutionary models. Its main hyper-fast competitors are the Ferrari LaFerrari F70 and the Porsche 918. They are all similar in specifications and performance, and in a race around the Silverstone circuit, they were all within a second of each other, the P1 finishing first at a time of 58.24 sec and the LaFerrari finishing slightly slower at 58:58 and the Porsche in between them with 58:46.

p1carbon08And if you want a P1 with a difference, what about a new carbon edition ? Details on request.

A track-only version of the P1, the McLaren P1 GTR, was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Production of the GTR was limited to approximately 49 units and only original McLaren P1 owners have been invited to buy one. ( We have a new registered McLaren P1 GTR road version available for sale – details on request.)

Its engine produces 670 PS (493 kW; 661 bhp) at 8250 rpm, with 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) of torque at 6500 rpm. Ferrari claims the 599 GTO can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph). At 1,605 kilograms (3,538 lb), the 599 GTO weighs almost 100 kg (220 lb) less than the standard GTB. Production was limited to 599 cars. The Ferrari 458 Speciale is the top performing 458 Italia. Distinctions of the Speciale are the forged wheels, vented bonnet, finned side sills, taller rear spoiler and redesigned bumpers, which include active aerodynamics designed by Ferrari Styling Centre in co-operation with Pininfarina; front and rear movable flaps balance downforce and cut drag at speed. The engine was revised, with power increased to 445 kW (597 hp) at 9,000 rpm, 540 N·m (398 lb·ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm. Electronic systems were updated too, introducing side slip angle control (SSC) to improve car control on the limit. SSC performs instant-to-instant analysis of the car’s side slip, comparing it with the target value and then optimising both torque management (via integration with F1-Trac traction control) and torque distribution between the two wheels (via integration with the E-Diff electronic differential). The weight/power ratio (1,290 kg dry, 1,395 kg at the kerb, 90 less than the standard 458) is equal to 2.13 kg/cv, sprints from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just three seconds (0–125 mph or 0–200 km/h in 9.1 seconds with a response time of just 0.060 seconds). Ferrari declared a Fiorano test track lap time of 1:23.5, only 0.5 seconds slower than the F12 Berlinetta. Lateral acceleration now reaches 1.33 g.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale was unveiled in 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show

36001

Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale

The Challenge Stradale is a low production track day focused car based on the 360 Modena. From a handling and braking performance perspective was the equivalent of adding a FHP (Fiorano Handling Pack) to the 360, which was available for V12 models such as the 550, 575 or F599 but never separately for the V8’s.

It was inspired by the 360 Modena Challenge racing car series so the focus was primarily on improving its track lapping performance credentials by concentrating on handling, braking and weight reduction characteristics, which are essential in pure racing cars. Ferrari engineers designed the car from the outset with a goal of 20% track day use in mind and 80% road use. With only a small 20 bhp (15 kW) improvement in engine power from the Modena (and boasting an improved power-to-weight ratio) the Challenge Stradale accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds (three tenths faster than a Modena) but bald figures do not paint the full picture. For the enthusiastic driver the differences are truly staggering; genuine systematic improvements were achieved to the setup and feel of the whole car. Throttle response from the digital throttle was ratcheted up and feedback through the steering wheel was enhanced. The responsiveness of the controls, the balance of the chassis, the braking performance and the driver feedback all contribute greatly to the overall driving experience. Thanks to CCM brakes borrowed from the F430, some lower weight parts and a FHP handling pack, the Challenge Stradale was able to claim an impressive 3.5 seconds improvement per lap of the Fiorano circuit compared to the Modena (the target was 2.5 seconds).

In total, the Challenge Stradale is up to 110 kg (243 lb) lighter than the standard Modena if all the lightweight options are specified such as deleted radio, lexan (plexiglass) door window and Alcantara fabric (instead of the leather option). As much as 74 kilograms (207 lb) was taken off on the car by lightening the bumpers, stripping the interior of its sound deadening and carbon mirrors and making the optional Modena carbon seats standard. Resin Transfer Moulding was utilized for the bumpers and skirts, a carry over from the Challenge cars which resulted in lighter bumpers than on the Modena. The engine and transmission weight was slimmed down 11 kg (24 lb) through the use of a smaller, lighter weight sports (yet still stainless steel) exhaust back box and valved exit pipes. The Challenge Stradale also got Brembo carbon ceramic brakes as standard (which later became standard fitment on the F430) which shaved 16 kg off the curb weight and improved handling by reducing unsprung weight and completely eliminating brake fade. Cars fitted with the center console stereo option, sub speaker box behind the seats and glass side windows re-gained approximately 30 kg over the best selected options (from a weight perspective).

FERRARI 275GTB4 – NOW SOLD

1967 Ferrari 275GTB4

1967 Ferrari 275GTB4 Rosso Chiaro with tan interior, Ferrari Classiche certification, good continuous history from new, restored by known specialists in 2007 and little mileage covered since.

1967_Ferrari_275_GTB-4_004_8969

Introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 1966, the 275 GTB/4 (or 4-cam) was a substantially updated car; built by Scaglietti, it featured new bodywork and was the first Ferrari to not be offered with wire wheels.

Power came from a substantially reworked Colombo V12, still with two valves per cylinder but now with a four cam engine and six carburettors as standard. In a departure from previous Ferrari designs, the valve angle was reduced three degrees to 54° for a more-compact head. The dual camshafts also allowed the valves to be aligned “correctly” (perpendicular to the camshaft) instead of offset as in the single overhead camshaft Ferraris. It was a dry sump design with a huge 16 litre capacity. The individual cylinder capacity remained unchanged at slightly under 275cc, which as before gave the model the first three digits of its name, and when multiplied by the number of cylinders equals 3285.72 cc total swept volume. The transaxle was also redesigned. A torque tube connected the engine and transmission, rather than allowing them to float free on the body as before. This improved handling, noise, and vibration. Porsche synchronisers were also fitted for improved shifting and reliability.

The 275 GTB/4 could hit 268 km/h (166.5 mph) with its 300 hp (220 kW). 280 4-cam versions were produced until 1968.

In 2004, Sports Car International magazine named the Ferrari 275 GTB/4 number seven on the list of all time Top Sports cars of the 1960s.
