The Enzo Ferrari (also unofficially referred to as the Ferrari Enzo) is a a 12 cylinder mid enngine sports car named after the company’s founder, Enzo Ferrari It was built in 2002 using  Formula 1 technology, such as a carbon fibre body, F1-style electro hydraulic gear shift transmission, and  carbon fibre reinforced silica carbide (C/SiC) ceramic composite disc brakes. Also used are technologies not allowed in F1 such as active aerodynamics and traction control. The Enzo Ferrari generates incredibly high amounts of  downforce which is achieved by the front underbody flaps, the small adjustable rear spoiler and the rear diffuser working in conjunction, 3363  newtons (756 pounds force) is generated at 124 mph (200 km/h) 7602 Newtons (1709 pounds force) is attained at 186 mph (299 km/h) before decreasing to 5738 Newtons (1290 pounds force) at top speed.

The Enzo’s F140B V12 engine was the first of a new generation for Ferrari. It is based on the design of the V8 engine found in the Maserati Quattroporte, using the same basic design and 104 mm (4.1 in) bore spacing. This design replaced the former architectures seen in V12 and V8 engines used in most other contemporary Ferraris. The 2005 F430 is the second Ferrari to get a version of this new powerplant. Ferrari developed the Ferrari FXX Corse Cliente from this car.

The McLaren P15 Senna is a limited-production mid engine supercar sportscar manufactured by McLaren Automotive,. The car is the latest addition to the McLaren Ultimate Series, joining the F1 and the P1; however, it is not a direct successor to either of those cars. It was revealed to the world online by the company on December 10, 2017, with the official debut taking place at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Production will be limited to 500 units, with each car hand-built at the McLaren production centre in Woking. The car pays tribute to the late F1 driver Ayrton Senna and his accomplishments with the company’s Formula One Team, ( back in the days when F1 had some characters and they actually raced each other : )

Specifications

McLaren’s main focus, while designing the Senna was to achieve faster lap times. In order to do so, McLaren developed a lightweight design that incorporated many aerodynamic elements.

The McLaren P15 Senna is largely based on the McLaren 720S, using a  modified version of its carbon fibre monocoque and twin-turbocharged engine. The Senna is powered by an uprated version of the 720S’ 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 dubbed the M840TR. It uses a seven-speed  dual clutch transmission that delivers all 800 PS (588 kW; 789 hp) and 590 lb⋅ft (800 N⋅m) to the rear wheels. Unlike the previous offering in the Ultimate Series, the P1, the Senna does not use an electric motor in favour of its low dry weight of 1,198 kg (2,641 lb), which allows for a power to weight ratio of 658 hp (491 kW; 667 PS) per ton. Seriously powerful.

Carbon fibre aerodynamic pieces constitute the car, with a large double-element rear wing, double-element diffuser, F1 -inspired roof scoop, front and side air intakes, rear air louvres, and large front fenders. Inside a panel beside the intakes is a small set of mini-canards. Areas of low pressure are accompanied using high-performance radiators. The car uses dihedral doors, like the other previous models in the Ultimate Series, and also has optional windows applied on the lower area of its doors.

The Senna uses a brand-new generation of Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, containing a new compound that has three and a half times better thermal conductivity than before, making the brakes smaller and lighter. It also features a new set of central-locking alloy wheels designed for Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires. Its central design is a new generation of McLaren’s monocoque named MonoCage III, which contributes to the car’s dry weight.The interior largely comprised of exposed carbon fibre, with seats that can be upholstered in alcantara or leather, depending on the customer’s preference. Behind the two seats is room large enough for two helmets and race suits, noting the car’s minimalist and track focused design. The car utilises McLaren’s hydraulic RaceActive Chassis Control II (RCC II) suspension along with double-wishbone control arms.

Performance statistics

In February 2018, McLaren released the full performance statistics of the track-oriented McLaren P15 Senna model:

  • 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h): 2.2 seconds.
  • 0–124 mph (0–200 km/h): 6.8 seconds.
  • 0–186 mph (0–299 km/h): 17.5 seconds.
  • Standing quarter-mile: 9.9 seconds.
  • Power-to-weight ratio: 659 hp/tonne.
  • Top speed: 211 mph (340 km/h) (redline limited).

Production

Every car will be hand-built at the McLaren facility in Woking, UK. with a production run of just 500 units, all of which are already sold. The McLaren Senna is listed at the price of £750,000 ($837,000) with the final car auctioned at a price of £1,916,793 ($2,670,000). Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2018.

Development started in 1972, focusing on 4 wheel drive off-road abilities and maximum safety and comfort; with a cooperative agreement between Daimler Benz and Steyr Puch in Graz, Austria. Mercedes-Benz engineers in Stuttgart were in charge of design and testing, while the team in Graz developed the production plans. The first wooden model was presented to Daimler-Benz management in 1973, with the first drivable prototype beginning various testing including German coalfields, the Sahara Desert, and the Arctic Circle in 1974. Construction commenced on a new production facility in Graz, where the new cross-country vehicle would be assembled nearly entirely by hand in 1975, with production of the “G Model” beginning in Graz in 1979. In 1980, the Vatican took delivery of a specially made G-Wagen outfitted with a clear thermoplastic top which served as the Pope mobile. The “Papa G” later took up permanent residence at the MB museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982, when the 230 GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tires and fender flares. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard and by 1986 over 50,000 G Models had been produced.

The G-Wagen was facelifted in 1990. In 1989, for the 10th anniversary of the G Model, a new model variant with permanent 4-wheel drive, a wood-trimmed interior and optional Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) debuted at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. Production began the following April. For 1992, a new sub-series for professional users began production. The civilian model began to offer cruise control, a stainless-steel spare-tire cover, running boards and Burl Walnut wood interior trim. The same year, the 100,000th G Model was built in Graz. In 1994, the model line was officially renamed the G-Class. Ventilated front disc brakes and a driver’s air bag became standard. In 1996 the automatic transmission became an electronically controlled 5-speed unit. Headlamp washers, cruise control and a front passenger’s air bag were added. In 1998, the range-topping G 500 with a 296 hp V 8 was introduced for series production.

For 1999 a limited run of V 8 powered “G 500 Classic” special editions marked the model’s 20th anniversary. A multifunction steering wheel was added to all models. Later in the year, the new G 55 AMG debuts as the most powerful G-Class yet, with 354 hp. The U.S. market launch of the G-Class took place in 2001. New alloy wheels, a chrome grille and body-color bumpers plus a more luxurious cabin were introduced. New dynamic control systems included the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Brake Assist and the 4 wheel Electronic Traction System (4 ETS). The G 55 AMG was upgraded in 2004 with a supercharged V 8 engine developing 476 hp. In Siberia in 2006, a documentary filmmaker was the first foreigner to reach the world’s coldest region with a passenger vehicle in winter, driving a stock G 500 nearly 19,000 km without a single breakdown, in temperatures as frigid as −63˚F/-53 °C.

A new version was expected for 2007, but the new GL-Class did not replace the G-Wagen, and it will continue to be hand-built in Graz, Austria at an annual production of 4,000 to 6,000 units. In February 2009, Magna Steyr, an operating unit of Magna International , announced that it signed an agreement with Daimler AG to extend the production of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class at Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria until 2015. Besides the production, the further development of the G-Class by Daimler’s subsidiary MB Graz since 1992.

For 2007 the output of the G 55 AMG was raised to an even 500 hp. Bi Xenon headlamps, corner-illuminating front foglamps and new scratch-resistant nano-particle paint finishes were offered for the first time. In 2008 more-refined instrumentation and controls were included in the G-Class cabin, along with the COMMAND system with hard-drive-based navigation, a rear view camera, voice control, Bluetooth and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The Vatican receives a new white “Popemobile” based on a G 500. 2009 marked the 30th anniversary of the vehicle, with over 200,000 units having been manufactured in Graz since 1979.

Production of the model now known as the Defender began in 1983 as the Land Rover 110, a name which reflected the 110-inch (2,800 mm) length of the wheelbase. The Land Rover 90, with 93-inch (2,362 mm) wheelbase, and Land Rover 127, with 127-inch (3,226 mm) wheelbase, soon followed.

Superficially there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Initially the conservative engineering department insisted that the Land Rover was also available with a part-time 4WD system familiar to derivatives produced since 1949. However the part-time system failed to sell and was quickly dropped from the options list by 1984. While the engine and other body panels carried over from the S3, mechanically the 90 and 110 were modernized, including:

  • Coil springs, offering a more comfortable ride and improved axle articulation
  • A permanent four-wheel-drive system derived from the Range Rover, featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential
  • A modernised interior
  • A taller one-piece windscreen
  • A new series of progressively more powerful and modern engines

The 110 was launched in 1983, and the 90 followed in 1984. From 1984, wind-up windows were fitted (Series models and very early 110s had sliding panels), and a 2.5-litre (153 cu in), 68 horsepower (51 kW) diesel engine was introduced. This was based on the earlier 2.3-litre (140 cu in) engine, but had a more modern fuel-injection system as well as increased capacity. A low compression version of the 3.5-litre (214 cu in) V8 Range Rover engine transformed performance. It was initially available in the 110 with a Range Rover LT95 four-speed transmission with integral transfer case and vacuum operated differential lock, then later in conjunction with a high strength “Santana” five-speed transmission.

This period saw Land Rover Defender Double Cab Pick Up market the utility Land Rover as a private recreational vehicle. While the basic pick-up, 4 x 4 and van versions were still working vehicles, the County 4x4s were sold as multi-purpose family vehicles, featuring improved interior trim and more comfortable seats. This change was reflected in Land Rover starting what had long been common practice in the car industry — detail changes and improvements to the County model from year to year in order to attract new buyers and to encourage existing owners to trade in for a new vehicle. These changes included different exterior styling graphics and colour options, and the introduction of new options, such as radio-cassette players, Rostyle wheels, headlamp wash and wipe systems, as well as accessories such as surfboard carriers and bike racks. The switch from leaf spring to coil spring suspension was a key part of the new model’s success. It offered improved off-road ability, load capacity, handling, and ride comfort

The Yamaha XT500 is a twin-valve single cylinder enduro adventure motorcycle / trail bike made by Yamaha from 1975 until 1989. It shares its power plant with the street version SR500 and its full off road brother, the Yamaha TT500. All parts such as the engine, transmission and chassis were produced in Japan. Kickstart only..

The first XT 500 was shown at the US dealer convention in September 1975, and in Europe in the summer of 1976. The bike became an instant success and was produced until 1989 when it was replaced by four-valve engines. It laid the ground for the later range of XT bikes ranging from 125 cc to the current 660 cc XT660 Tenere and contributed largely to Yamaha’s image. In France alone, 62,000 XT 500s were sold from 1976 to 1990.

The XT won the first big African rallies, which were on the rise in the late seventies. It started with Paris–Abidjan-Nice and then the Paris – Dakar Rally, which confirmed the supremacy of the XT 500 and the rise of the bike’s cult status. Bengt Aberg competed in the 1977 500cc World Motocross Championship on a highly modified Yamaha XT500 built in collaboration with former world champions Torsten Hallman and Sten Lundin – the Yamaha HL500. Åberg rode the bike to victory in the first moto of the 1977 500cc Luxembourg Grand Prix and ended the season ranked 9th in the final world championship standings.

The 21-inch front wheel and the 18-inch rear with enduro-style tyres make it fit for both on- and off-road use. The LaFerrari Aperta is a limited production version (209 units) of the LaFerrari, with a removable carbon-fibre hard top and a removable soft top. Other changes include more efficient powertrain’s control electronics, re-angled radiators to direct air flow out along the underbody rather than over the bonnet, a longer front air dam to help boost downforce, L-shaped flap on the upper corner of each windscreen pillar to reduce compression on the rear of the cabin in the absence of a roof, different butterfly door angle with different wheel arches and a new carbon fibre insert allowing the doors to rotate.

The vehicle was unveiled in Paris 2016. Like past convertible Ferrari models, it uses the Aperta label to denote its retractable roof. According to Ferrari, all units have already been sold to customers via exclusive invitation.

Specifications

LaFerrari is the first mild hybrid from Ferrari, providing the highest power output of any Ferrari whilst decreasing fuel consumption by 40 percent. LaFerrari’s internal combustion engine is a mid-rear mounted Ferrari F140 65° V12 with a 6.3-litre (6262 cc) capacity producing 800 ps (588 kW, 789 bhp) @ 9000 rpm and 700 N·m (520 lbf·ft) of torque @ 6,750 rpm, supplemented by a 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp) KERS unit (called HY-KERS), which will provide short bursts of extra power. The KERS system adds extra power to the combustion engine’s output level for a total of 963 PS (708 kW; 950 bhp) and a combined torque of 900 N·m (664 lb·ft). Ferrari claims CO2 emissions of 330 g/km. The engine’s bore and stroke is 94×75.2 mm with a compression ratio of 13.5:1 and a specific power output of 94 kW (128 PS) per litre. It is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the car is rear wheel drive.

Equipment

The car is equipped with carbon-ceramic Brembo discs on the front (398 mm) and rear (380 mm), with the car sitting on Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires measuring 265/30 R 19 and 345/30 R 20 respectively.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta uses a carbon fibre monocoque structure developed by Ferrari’s F1 technical director Rory Byrne, with a claimed 27 percent more torsional rigidity and 22 percent more beam stiffness than the Enzo. It has a double wishbone suspension in the front and a multi link suspension in the rear.

LaFerrari has a number of electronic controls including ESC, high performance ABS/EBD (anti-lock braking system/electronic brake distribution), EF1-Trac F1 electronic traction control integrated with the hybrid system, E-Diff 3 third generation electronic differential, SCM-E Frs magnetorheological damping with twin solenoids (Al-Ni tube), and active aerodynamics to enable maximum performance.

Performance

Ferrari states that the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta has a top speed exceeding 217 mph (349 km/h), similar to the Enzo’s top speed, however, it is capable of reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in under seven seconds, and a speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) in 15 seconds.Ferrari also claims that the car has lapped its Fiorano test circuit in 1:19.70 which is faster than any other road-legal car Ferrari has ever produced.

The Ferrari F50 is a mid engine range topping supercar made by Ferrari. The F50 was introduced in 1995. The car is a two-door, two seat roadster with a removable hardtop. It has a 4.7 L naturally aspirated 60 valve V12 engine that was developed from the 3.5 L V12 used in the 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 Formula One car.

Only 349 cars were made. The last F50 was produced in Maranello, Italy, in July 1997 although there were a further six cars built for the Sultan of Brunei that date after the 349.  This car was first registered in Italy in July 1997.

The F50’s engine predated the car; it was used in the Ferrari 333SP for the American IMSA series in 1994, allowing it to become eligible for the stock engine WSC category – World Sportscar Championship.
