Celebrating 20 years since their victory in the 1995 24h Le Mans win, McLaren announced that they would resurrect the GTR name by launching a track-only version of the P1, the P1 GTR.

The P1 GTR was made available to the 375 P1 owners only, and the production was limited to 35 units. The concept car made its debut at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2014. The P1 GTR production model was officially unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show The GTR variant is priced at GB£1.9 million. This price includes a worldwide owners trackday series; later P1 GTRs were offered for less money, approximately $1.7 million, for those P1 owners who had no interest in the track series but still wanted to purchase the GTR variant.

McLaren states that this is the most powerful McLaren to date, with an intended power output of 987 bhp (1,000 PS, 735 kW). The car will also feature slick tyres, and have greater levels of performance, grip, aerodynamics and downforce in comparison to the road car. Featuring a new fixed ride height on race-prepared suspension, a fixed rear wing capable of using DRS, and a new exclusively designed exhaust, McLaren aims to deliver the ultimate track experience.

This limited edition went in to production in 2015, after all 375 standard P1’s were built, as homage to its race-winning ancestor, the iconic F1 GTR.

The P1 GTR hybrid engine aims at producing 1,000 PS (987 bhp); 84 bhp over the current model, although McLaren did not disclose whether the power increase is from electrical boost or tuning the twin turbo 3.8-litre V8. Performance figures are unconfirmed. P1 GTR weight was reduced by 50 kg and deliver power-to-weight ratio of 687 bhp per tonne.

The P1 GTR can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds, with the top speed at 225 mph (362 km/h), brake from 60 mph to 0 in 85 ft, and corners at 1.54 G.

The AM-RB 001, code named the Nebula and now given the name Valkyrie is the new Aston Martin $3 million 2-seater hypercar. The AM in its name stands for Aston Martinand the RB stands for Red Bull. The hypercar is a product of collaboration between Aston martin and Red Bull Racing to create a car entirely usable and enjoyable as a road car. The car’s makers claim the title of fastest street-legal car in the world for it. The design was helped by Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer and the world’s most successful F1 designer.

Specifications

Although the details of the car are still unclear, it will have a naturally aspirated v12 engine and will have some sort of hybridization; possibly a Formula 1 style hybrid system. It will reportedly have 1 horsepower for every kilogram and is expected to weigh about 2,300 pounds.

Everything is made of carbon fiber and there is not a single steel component in its entire structure. It is rumored to have around 1000 horsepower on tap to go with a 10,000 rpm rev limit and a 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds or less. It is also expected to have a semi-active suspension system when it hits the market in 2018.

The McLaren P1 Carbon is a limited production plug-in hybrid sports car built by British car manufacturer, McLaren Automotive. The so called Hypercar and concept car was capable of reaching speeds of 218 mph (351 km/h) with the limiter on, and up to 249 mph (401 km/h) without it. Debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, all 375 models were soon snatched up. Deliveries to retail customers began in the UK in October 2013. The entire P1 production of 375 units was sold out by November 2013. The production run ended in December 2015. The United States accounted for 34% of the limited production run, and Europe for 26%, so not many of these cars to go around.

It is considered to be the long-awaited successor to the McLaren F1, utilizing hybrid power and Formula 1 technology, but does not have the same three seat layout as its predecessor. Like the McLaren F1 road car of 1992, the McLaren P1 is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive design that uses a carbon fibre monocoque and roof structure safety cage concept called MonoCage, which is a development of the MonoCell first used in the McLaren MP4-12C and then in subsequent evolutionary models. Its main hyper-fast competitors are the Ferrari LaFerrari F70 and the Porsche 918. They are all similar in specifications and performance, and in a race around the Silverstone circuit, they were all within a second of each other, the P1 finishing first at a time of 58.24 sec and the LaFerrari finishing slightly slower at 58:58 and the Porsche in between them with 58:46.

A track-only version of the P1, the McLaren P1 GTR, was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. On 8 April 2010, Ferrari announced official details of the 599 GTO. The car is a road-going version of the 599XX and at the time Ferrari claimed that the 599 GTO was their fastest ever road car, able to lap the Fiorano test circuit in 1 minute 24 seconds, one second faster than the Ferrari Enzo. Its engine produces 670 PS (493 kW; 661 bhp) at 8250 rpm, with 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) of torque at 6500 rpm. Ferrari claims the 599 GTO can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph). At 1,605 kilograms (3,538 lb), the 599 GTO weighs almost 100 kg (220 lb) less than the standard GTB. Production was limited to 599 cars. Of these, approximately 125 were produced for the United States market. Ferrari has given only two other models that used the GTO designation: the 1962 250GTO and the 1984 288GTO. Unlike the previous GTOs however, the 599 GTO was not designed for homologation in any racing series.

Revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 1, the Porsche 911R RHD shares most of its underpinnings with the GT3 RS, but removes the rollcage, rear wing, and associated bodywork for a weight savings of 50 kg. The Porsche 911R comes only with a 6-speed manual transmission, and has a top speed of 201 mph due to a lower drag coefficient compared to the GT3 RS. It also offers additional options for a lighter flywheel and removal of the air conditioning and audio systems. Production will be limited to 991 examples, starting as a 2017 model.

Ferrari revealed a lightweight, track-focused version of the F12 berlinetta in October 2015 of which 799 units will be produced. The name pays homage to the Tour de France car race between 1899 and 1986 and which was regularly won by Ferrari 250 between 1956 and 1964. The F12 TdF has the same 6.3L V12 engine as the standard car, but it now puts out 780 PS (574 kW; 769 hp) and 705 N·m (520 lb·ft). It also weighs 110 kg (243 lb) less than the standard F12, so the dry weight stands at 1,415 kg (3,120 lb). The F12 TdF can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.9 seconds. The top speed is ‘in excess of 211 mph (340 km/h)’. The car has lapped Ferrari’s Fiorano test circuit in 1 minute 21 seconds, 2 seconds faster than the standard F12 Berlinetta and 488GTB, and just 1.3 seconds behind the fastest lap set by the LaFerrari. F12 TdF was designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre.

The Ferrari F40 is a mid engine, rear wheel drive, two-door coupe, sports car built from 1987 to 1992 (up to 1994 for the LM and 1996 for the GTE). As the successor to the Ferrari 288GTO, it was designed to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary and was the last Ferrari automobile personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. At the time it was the fastest, most powerful, and most expensive car that Ferrari sold to the public.

The car debuted with a factory suggested retail price of approximately £168,00 in 1987 , although some buyers were reported to have paid as much as £1.5 million. It is believed that 1,311 F40s were manufactured in total.

As early as 1984, the Maranello factory had begun development of an evolution model of the 288 GTO intended to compete against the Porsche 959 in FIA Group B. However, when the FIA brought an end to the Group B category for the 1986 season, Enzo Ferrari was left with five Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione development cars, and no series in which to campaign them. Enzo’s desire to leave a legacy in his final super car allowed the Evoluzione program to be further developed to produce a car exclusively for road use. A figure from the Ferrari marketing department was quoted as saying “We wanted the Ferrari F40 to be very fast, sporting in the extreme and spartan in it’s finish,” “Customers had been saying our cars were becoming too plush and comfortable.” “The Ferrari F40 is for the most enthusiastic of our owners who want nothing but sheer performance. It isn’t a laboratory for the future, as the 959 is. It is not Star Wars. And it wasn’t created because Porsche built the 959. It would have happened anyway.

Ferrari LaFerrari (project name, F150) is a limited production hybrid sports car built by Italian sports car maker Ferrari. The car and its name were officially unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It is based on findings from testing of the Ferrari FXX Enzo and on research being conducted by the Millechili Project at the University of Modena. Association with the Millechili Project led to speculation during development that the car would weigh under 1,000 kg (2,205 lb), but a dry weight of around 1,255 kg (2,767 lb) was claimed. Only 499 units have been built, and each now cost more than €2.5M Euros net of VAT.

LaFerrari is the first mild hybrid from Ferrari, providing the highest power output of any Ferrari whilst decreasing fuel consumption by 40 percent. The Ferrari LaFerrari’s internal combustion engine is a mid-rear mounted Ferrari F140 65° V12 with a 6.3 litre (6262 cc) capacity producing 800 Bhp/Ps (588 kW, 789 bhp) @ 9,000 rpm and 700 Nm (516 lb.ft) of torque @ 6,750 rpm, supplemented by a 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp) KERS ( Kinetic energy recovery system ) unit (called HY-KERS), which will provide short bursts of extra power. The KERS system adds extra power to the combustion engine’s output level for a total of 963 PS (708 kW; 950 bhp) and a combined torque of 900 N·m (664 lb·ft). Ferrari claims CO₂ emissions of 330 g/km. The engine’s bore and stroke is 94×75.2 mm with a compression ratio of 13.5:1 and a specific power output of 128 metric horsepower per litre. It is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the car is rear wheel drive only.

The car is equipped with carbon-ceramic Brembo discs on the front (398 mm) and rear (380 mm), with the car sitting on Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres measuring 265/30 R 19 and 345/30 R 20 respectively.

The Ferrari LaFerrari uses a carbon fibre monocoque structure developed by Ferrari’s F1 technical director Rory Byrne, with a claimed 27 percent more torsional rigidity and 22 percent more beam stiffness than the Enzo. It has a double wishbone suspension in the front and a multi-link suspension in the rear.

The Ferrari LaFerrari has a number of electronic controls including ESC stability control, high performance ABS/EBD (anti-lock braking system/electronic brake distribution), EF1-Trac F1 electronic traction control integrated with the hybrid system, E-Diff 3 third generation electronic differential, SCM-E Frs magnetorheological damping with twin solenoids (Al-Ni tube), and active aerodynamics to enable maximum performance.
